12/31/06 Barb Andersen

I had a great reunion dinner in Seattle with Prissy Schruers, (me), George Bowden, Susan Richards, and Anne Ohlrogge. Prissy's husband Marty Mitchell also joined us. This is the photo her husband took. I'll send the photo I took later this weekend. All of us are looking well don't you think!

As I mentioned to you recently I met Prissy Schruers and others for dinner in Seattle. During dinner Prissy and I were talking about where we had lived prior to our time in Mountain Lakes. It turns out we had both resided in Baldwin, Long Island New York. Further discussion revealed that we had both attended the same elementary school. We both were totally amazed to find out that we were in the SAME kindergarten class with Miss Brown as our teacher.

Old Friends

I'm attaching the photo. I am in the front row -- fourth from the right in the solid light color dress. Prissy is also in the front row (with braids) fifth from the left -- also in a solid light color dress. What makes this story so strange is that Prissy and I were best friends throughout elementary school and high school in Mountain Lakes, but we never discovered we had these Baldwin "roots". It took a dinner in Seattle at age 60 to reveal this fact.

Bob, here is a photo taken when Anne and I visited friends in Florida and invited Gale and Tish to join us for a barbecue. It was great to see them. Still working on the Bio--I won't forget!

As you can see from the photo included, Eddie Osterland came to town recently and Gale, Eddie and I got together for a wonderful steak dinner. We stayed overnight at Gale's house in Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and ended up talking until 3:30 a.m. It is amazing to me that no matter how much time passes, we can still have so much to share all because of the common thread called Mountain Lakes

Donna and her husband are now in Mexico working with the Peace Core. She came back for a special event and sent us some news.

Here he is! I have been having a ball in Stillwater, MN getting to know my grandson, Grant. He is beautiful and very good. Of course, Mother Gretchen wouldn't have anything else!

We had visits from Aunt Pat, a dear friend of mine from Madison, and Kristen "KK" Young and her family. KK and Gretchen have been friends since 1972. KK is pregnant with her second and now lives in Wausau only 3 hours away.

It is going to be hard to leave, even though I miss Tom and Mexico... Thanks so much for all your nice emails!! Donna
